My evangelic established church, the church of the shlesic upper lusatia, has with synods resolution from 24.03.2001 opened the way for a merging of the churches in the east of Germany. As national minority of Sorbians we want to bring us into this process of agreement. Simultaneously we await a better merging of Sorbians in the upper and lower lusatia also in questions of belief. The regional dialects in middle lusatia are thereby also a guarantee, that there will be no problems of “communication”.

Since 1992 I represent the interests of sorbian Christians in the provincial synod. This representation is bound to the office of the sorbian parish service. An election doesn’t take place, as for other members. The evangelic Sorbians have the right of proposal. I have been proposed already twice. In 2002 the established synod will reconstitute itself, but if this place will be occupied again is unsure. Through church-law the synod has been reduced in 1998. With that the places for the working institutions also have been halved. In 2002 the Mans working group would be present with a steady seat. The youth demands also its steady representation. So it would be pure luck, if by direct election a Sorbian could go for the synod. Via the direct mandates other working institutions can represent themselves - we as a minority not.!
